Sitting on 2,100 acres near Hopkinsville, Kentucky, the I-24 Megasite is listed as a Certified Automotive Megasite by McCallum Sweeney. Taking its name from the high-traffic interstate corridor that runs alongside the property, it’s also less than 55 miles from Interstate 65 (a.k.a. “Auto Alley”) and Interstate 40. A CSX railroad line runs adjacent to the property. And it’s less than an hour away from the Nashville International Airport.

The labor force is a blend of blue-collar and skilled professionals. The site’s close proximity to Ft. Campbell – home of the U.S. Army’s 101st Airborne Division – means that a steady stream of skilled and highly motivated employees is constantly available as solders are discharged. Hopkinsville Community College also provides workforce training in fields such as engineering principles, metal fabrication, industrial machinery repair, industrial electrical wiring and industrial machinery equipment maintenance.

For recreational activities, the I-24 site is just a short drive away from all the entertainment in Music City (Nashville) and from the Land Between the Lakes National Recreational Area. Located between Lake Barkley and Kentucky Lake, this recreational area includes 2,400 miles of cove-studded shoreline, an elk and bison sanctuary, and lots of opportunities for boating, fishing, hunting golfing and hiking.

Dossier: Glendale Megasite

This 1,551-acre, CSX-certified megasite is located in Hardin County, just 47 miles south of Louisville. Adjacent to Interstate 65 and a CSX main rail line, it’s ideally situated for logistics needs. Plus, it’s just 45 minutes from Louisville International Airport, UPS Worldport Hub and the Louisville Riverport. (Elizabethtown Regional Airport, with its 6,000-foot runway, is even closer for corporate service.)

Industrial water, sewer, natural gas, electricity and telecommunications services are already available at the site.

The Elizabethtown MSA has a population of over 121,000 with a large, highly motivated civilian labor force within a 60-minute drive. Fort Knox military installation, located in Hardin County, also provides for a steady stream of quality employees for the local workforce. Also bolstering the labor pool is the nearby Elizabethtown Community and Technical College. Just six miles from the site, it offers state-of-the-art training and places students with local industries for on-the-job training.

A strong local economy, affordable housing, and lots of cultural and recreational opportunities make Elizabethtown/Hardin County as desirable a place to live as it is to work.
